Dating back to Roman times, the crypt was first built as part of the St. Marie church in the 10th century. In the 12th century a new church was built in its place. It was name when money changers set up their stalls at its foot. Now being restored, it offers a virtual tour of times past in Montpellier. Lights mark the lines of the old church which has now disappeared and there are video and audio representations as well as modern techniques through which the City's history can be uncovered.
