The Lez river starts in St Clément de Rivière and flows into the Mediterranean sea in Palavas-les-Flots. It goes through 9 cities : Saint-Clément-de-Rivière, Les Matelles, Prades-le-Lez, Montferrier-sur-Lez, Clapiers, Montpellier, Castelnau-le-Lez, Lattes et Palavas-les-Flots and is 28,5 km long. In the XVIIth century, Montpellier traded with other cities of the Mediterranean thanks to the river Lez. Nowadays, you can canoe on the Lez, but also take a bath in Prades-le-Lez, go fishing or walk / bike along the river.
