In 1986, Pierre André Benoit, PAB by his name as publisher, printer, poet, sculptor,
designer donated his collection of modern art to his hometown, Alès, in 1986
to create a museum that bears his name. The exceptional collection is dominated by graphic arts and illustrated books. One of the attractions is the small format, “the tiny” passion of PAB.
The PAB collection is remarkable, very intuitive, very personal: paintings, drawings and engravings by Alechinsky, Braque, Picasso, Miró, Picabia, Survage, Viera da Silva, Bryen, Hugo and nearly 450 books created by PAB combining poetry and painting deposited by the BnF.
