STADE DE LA MOSSON - MONDIAL 98

  • Stadium
Avenue de Heidelberg, 34090 Montpellier
The Stade de la Mosson was inaugurated in 1972 and became the home stadium of the MHSC (Montpellier Hérault Sport Club) soccer team in 1974. The stadium hosted World Cup matches in 1998.
The stadium has undergone several renovations, the most important of which took place between 1988 and 1997, and now has a capacity of 22,000.

The Montpellier soccer team also trains in a dedicated training center. The MHSC center can privatize certain areas to host your next corporate meetings or professional events.

It also hosts rugby XV matches.

The stadium owes its name to the nearby Mosson river, whose floods can sometimes damage the stadium. The stadium's history is linked to that of the La Paillade district, where it is located, and to the emergence of the local club, AS Paillade, which in 1974 became Montpellier Paillade Sport Club after merging with Montpellier Littoral SC.
