LA DISTILLERIE

La Distillerie has been a well-known rock bar in Montpellier since 2007. Far from the cold aesthetic of classic galleries, it cultivates a raw, authentic and convivial identity. In this space, photography is lived as much as seen, in a social environment where sounds, craft beers and musical passion mingle.

Since February 2026, La Distillerie Montpellier has been home to a permanent photographic exhibition devoted to the world of rock and metal by photographer Eric CANTO. The event has not been set up in an immobile white gallery, but directly in the heart of an emblematic rock bar, where images and atmosphere meet.

Exhibition description

This exhibition presents 20 years of concert photography by Eric CANTO, a photographer
specializing in the rock and metal scenes. The original, numbered and signed fine-art prints are displayed
are displayed on the black walls of the bar, enveloped in a singular sonic and social atmosphere, far removed from institutional codes.

The viewer wanders between beers, guitars, tables and amps, to the rhythm of a rock & metal musical selection, while discovering images of intense stage moments, captured over two decades.
