DAVID SHAW AND THE BEAT
David Shaw is an uncompromising artist who chooses the path of instinctive, visceral and liberating music. Born in Manchester and influenced by rave, punk and garage, he first made a name for himself in electro under the alias Siskid, then with Blackstrobe, Jennifer Cardini and Vitalic. Under the name David Shaw And The Beat, he signed So It Goes, between techno and new wave, before co-founding DBFC and his baggy synthetic rock. Rejecting formats and artistic lukewarmness, he cultivates a proud, emotional and singular style of writing, which also appeals to the fashion world (Chanel, Gucci, Lanvin). With Love Songs With a Kick (Vol.1, 2 and 3), he takes his quest a step further: 40 tracks reduced to two vibrant discs, where guitars and machines balance each other, where punk ardor meets cold, mechanical, perverted pop.
