The Mediterranean is very close by and many people drown in it, just yesterday. Sometimes we wonder why we don?t talk about it as much, as if we?ve got used to it and are a bit ashamed. Maybe it's because it's so close. The Italians of Kepler-452, Nicola Borghesi and Enrico Baraldi, spent a few weeks in July 2024 on the ship Sea-Watch 5, with the "humanitarians" working there and the "migrants" rescued on this occasion.
There, they asked questions, learned stories, discovered the complex commitment of rescuers at sea, the rules and impotence involved, met angry people and others who make do. The result is a documentary piece that combines images and languages spoken on board, emergencies and disappointments. A powerful secular oratorio, political without pathos and simply human, performed on stage by Nicola Borghesi and the members of the mission themselves.
