The Juvignac carnival returns on Saturday April 11, from 2pm to 5:30pm. Under the banner of Occitan, the event will be an opportunity to discover the traditional dances and emblematic songs that tell the story of Occitan history and culture.
Departing from Place du Soleil, the procession will end in a festive atmosphere in Parc Saint-Hubert.
UPSTREAM RENDEZ-VOUS: COSTUMES WORKSHOPS WITH THE PÉTASSOUS Residents are invited to take part in "Pétassous" costume-making workshops organized in the room on level -1 of the Médiathèque Théodore Monod, on the following dates:

Les Pétassous open the procession with a joyful stroll, energetic rhythms and local music for all ages.
Lengadòc Bodega Ensemble! in the middle of the procession: bodega bagpipes, oboe, banjo, fife, accordion, drums, Languedoc music.
Les Aux Temps Tics close the procession: a warm, popular atmosphere for feasting together to the rhythm of brass and percussion instruments
3:30 pm - 5:30 pm I ANIMATIONS IN PARC SAINT-HUBERT
Snacks provided by parents? associations
Juvinhac Occitan association stand: sale of books and handcrafted jewelry
3:30 pm: Setting fire to Monsieur Carnaval and Occitan songs
Created by the children of the four school groups during extracurricular activities, the "Monsieur Carnaval" mascot will be assembled on Carnival day to create a monumental work of art which, according to tradition, will be burned.
As the fire is lit, parents and children will join musicians in singing Occitan songs (songs and lyrics available on juvignac.fr).
4pm: Balèti with Camille en Bal
Presented by Ox?Event Production (an association affiliated with Friche Mimi) Camille en Bal is a participatory balèti led by a dance master, inviting the public to discover traditional dances. A leading voice on the Occitan scene for over 20 years, Camille blends the repertoire of the Pays d?Oc with Afro-Cuban influences, supported by musicians of Occitan and Cuban origins.
Knightly combat with the Coterie du Renard
Knightly combat is the perfect medium for animation: it captivates children, tells a story and anchors the Occitan carnival in play and action.
5:30pm I CLOSING OF THE EVENT
