French chanson during the dark years continued the tradition of realist songs and their catchphrases inspired by everyday life. While the absence of men, shortages and nostalgia for happy times inspired many songwriters, propaganda also found its place. Come and listen to these sometimes funny, sometimes ferocious songs, which shed their own light on life in the Hérault region during the dark years.
