The new photographic exhibition AUTOUR DU LEZ, presented by Objectif Image Montpellier at Montpellier town hall, runs from November 3 to 21, 2025.
The Lez, source of life and creation, has always inspired poets, painters and filmmakers.
Now it has been joined by the photographic gaze of men and women who, through their images, explore the light, reflections and metamorphoses of this shifting landscape.
Each photograph becomes a fragment of visual memory, a trace of the passage of time on water, stone, vegetation or human structures. Somewhere between documentary observation and poetic interpretation, these images question our relationship with the river and its environment.
This exhibition is part of both an artistic and a heritage approach: it continues a pictorial tradition, while at the same time constituting a collective photographic archive of the Lez of today, a living, changing, familiar Lez, yet one that is always waiting to be rediscovered.
