From July 1 to November 1, 2026, Pavillon Populaire celebrates the pioneering spirit of photography with the exhibition Premières fois / Premières photos.
First shots by great photographers, unusual inventions and daring experiments make up this playful yet erudite tour, imagined by Luce Lebart for her first exhibition at the helm of the venue. From Martin Parr to Margaret Cameron, Bernard Plossu to Boris Mikhailov, the exhibition reveals the sometimes clumsy, often brilliant beginnings of photography?s major figures.
Between a cabinet of curiosities and a jubilant visual voyage, the public also discovers astonishing objects such as the photosiege or the photocyclist. A gourmet and curious dive into 200 years of photographic innovation.
Open from 11am to 7pm from mid-June to mid-September.
