EXPOSITION "VERSO DU MONDE ORDINAIRE"

  • Exhibition
L'Espace Saint-Ravy Place Saint-Ravy, 34000 Montpellier
From January 10 to February 1, 2026, Espace Saint-Ravy is delighted to welcome Verso du Monde Ordinaire, an exhibition featuring a selection of works by artists from Esat Ateliers Kennedy and La Bulle Bleue. The exhibition invites visitors to immerse themselves not only in a space of artistic creation, but also in the "extraordinary" world of these artists.

Opening on Friday, January 9 at 6.30pm.

Verso du Monde Ordinaire is a choral exhibition by artists from Ateliers Kennedy and La Bulle Bleue. Guided by artist Mathieu Renault, in residence since 2021, participants explore their creativity through weekly laboratories.
Built around the expressive breath of each individual, these workshops do not aim to seek an orthodoxy of gestures, but rather propose the use of different tools, supports and mediums, in order to support and enhance the strength and emotional power of the various practices.
The fruit of self-taught approaches, the works presented correspond to the materialization of an inner world: projections and intimate desires, without the filters of our "ordinary world", as the users of the Esat call it.
This exhibition is part of a wider project designed to meet the needs of disabled people in the Montpellier metropolitan area and the Hérault department. It is based on a social innovation approach designed to create an inclusive workspace.

The Esat Ateliers Kennedy and La Bulle Bleue are part of ADPEP 34, an association recognized as being in the public interest since the beginning of the 20th century. Founded on the values of secularism, justice and solidarity, the association aims to combat isolation, injustice and social exclusion among children, young people and adults.

Mathieu Renault trained as an artist in Latin America. He rediscovered Montpellier in 2008, settling there and joining the Atelier du Nord collective in the Figuerolles district. In his personal practice, he seizes on "anonymous tearing" to create pictorial landscapes from the layers of posters torn from city walls. By painting and working with the wefts of color and text on the posters, which he sees as the moults of urban space, he reveals their poetic power.
