The final stage of the HYPE OCC festival takes place in Montpellier from October 31 to November 15, 2025, bringing to a close a month-long artistic tour of the Occitanie region (October 14 to November 15). This major regional event for hip-hop and Afro-urban dance celebrates its third edition in the city where it was born in 2023, after having passed through Perpignan, Foix and Tarbes.
This festive fortnight takes place at several Montpellier venues, with a program showcasing the new hip-hop scene: dancer and choreographer Johanna Faye, the Mazel Freten duo, and Adélaïde Desseauve (aka Mulunesh) in Betty Tchomanga's #Mulunesh.
The festival features shows, performances and participatory moments, including a final battle-jam with live musicians. It is also aimed at professionals and enthusiasts, with workshops and two thematic meetings on cultural action as a tool for social cohesion.
Previously concentrated at the Théâtre d?O, this third edition will be held at several emblematic Montpellier venues. HYPE OCC connects the neighborhoods of La Mosson, Figuerolles, Boutonnet and Écusson, inviting audiences to experience dance differently, between stage and urban space. Agora ? Cité Internationale de la Danse and Pôle Chorégraphique Bernard Glandier for stage and performance creations, Maison pour Tous Louis Feuillade for krump workshops and masterclasses, La Halle Tropisme for the closing of the conference cycle on social cohesion, Cinéma Utopia for a dance-themed cinema program, and Hangar Théâtre / ENSAD for a grand closing evening featuring All Styles battles, showcases and jams.
