An exchange with Hélène DONNADIEU, head of the addictology department at Montpellier University Hospital, is scheduled for 2/21 at the end of the show.
The exemplary destiny of a woman with a big heart, an ode to life and the love of others.
This true story traces the extraordinary life of Germaine Campion (1905-1998). Raised in the family bistro in Brittany, she was a carefree, cheerful, natural girl who was left to her own devices.
But life soon takes its toll on her. Germaine found herself alone, faced with her worst enemy, alcohol, which followed her into the 40s. A drift that took her to Les Halles in Paris, in the rue Saint Denis district.
Despite a few helping hands, the bottle seemed to be her only raft. It was an encounter in 1937 that changed her fate. Once cured, she had only one thought in mind: "Go and tell everyone". Having rediscovered a new sense of purpose in her life, Germaine criss-crossed the cities, taking her message to the outcasts, the marginalized and suffering women. She was a firm believer in freedom and humanity.
As she always said: "Life has not spared me, but I have loved life so much! This show puts the spotlight on this forgotten, even misunderstood, female figure. On stage, Germaine reveals herself with simplicity, lightness and passion. An ode to love, an essential testimony to courage, resilience and hope.
