French tour

Built in 1723 by Joseph Bonnier, Treasurer of the Estates of Languedoc, Château de la Mosson is an exceptional monument, of which only the vestiges remain today: the grand salon with its superb gypseries, statues, terraces, park and water buffet.

Its fascinating history plunges us into an 18th century of splendor and decadence, where you'll understand how this château, built to impose the power of Joseph Bonnier de la Mosson, could, in the space of twenty years, be dismantled by the extravagance of his son of the same name.

Thanks to your guide and his explanations, you'll be able to reconstruct the glorious past of this nugget of Montpellier's heritage.
