A large-scale, epic work, Grande Paix recounts the ordeal of a woman in a post-atomic desert, dragging along a bundle of belongings she cherishes as her own child. Her wandering began after the fratricidal crime committed by her son, who had been ordered by the army to kill a newborn baby in his neighborhood because of shortages.
