The Domaine de Méric was once the country home of Frédéric Bazille's family.
The story of a place, the story of a man, it was in this haven of peace and inspiration that the painter exercised his talent at the end of the 19th century. It was one of the milestones in the revolution towards more lively plein-air painting. A movement that came to be known as "Impressionism", four years after Bazille's death.
