Noé is a happy little boy. To shine in the schoolyard, where his mom is a teacher, he becomes boisterous and competitive. He doesn?t hesitate to use brutality for the sake of playing, to the detriment of others. He no longer respects the values instilled in him by his parents. Watching him, his mother discovers a completely different child.
This show questions the construction of violence, unconsciously transmitted to our children, especially boys. Noé is an awakening to gender equality from the earliest age.
Inspired by historian Lucile Peytavin?s essay Le coût de la virilité (The Cost of Virility), choreographer and director Florence Bernad and author Aurélie Namur set out to explore, in a poetic and playful way, the desire to educate children differently, and the need to break away from the patriarchal, virile model.
The choreographer wants to offer children a singular, poetic show exploring the fundamentals of equal freedom, particularly in space, through dance movement. But she also wants adults to reflect on the recomposition of our educational models and a new way of living together.
Running time: 30 minutes
Ages 3 and up
