Play "Monet, Renoir and Bazille. Birth of Impressionism
Thursday March 12 at 8pm at Château de Flaugergues
Attend the Montpellier premiere of the play scheduled in Paris every weekend from January to the end of March!
The six young actors will take advantage of a day off from their Parisian schedule to perform at the Château de Flaugergues, giving us a glimpse into the life of Montpellier painter Bazille and his Impressionist friends.
Monet and Renoir are known the world over. History has somewhat forgotten the third: Bazille, who died prematurely in the war. Who was Frédéric Bazille? Born into a bourgeois family from Montpellier, who saw him as a doctor, the young man provoked fate by joining a painting studio in Paris. It was the beginning of a solid friendship for the trio.
Over and above rivalries and jealousies, their profound friendship was to change the world, giving rise to one of its most famous movements: Impressionism.
Running time: 1h30
