Dive into the world of regional authors at the book fair
The book fair opens its doors on Sunday, November 9, for a day of meetings and exchanges with authors, conferences and an introduction to origazoom.
The Pignan book fair, organized with the support of the Occitanie region, has established itself over the years as a highlight of regional literature. With some thirty regional authors present with their works, this fair offers a real opportunity to get up close and personal with the authors.
Much more than just an opportunity to leave with a signed book as a gift for the upcoming festive season, the fair provides an opportunity for dialogue and to learn more about the work of the writers, who discuss their backgrounds, sources of inspiration and working methods with the public. The médiathèque de la gare will also be present with a stand, and a book sale in aid of the secours populaire will be on offer throughout the day.
Program:
- All day: Origazoom introductory workshop. A creative and innovative 3D artistic process, combining origami folding, graffiti and calligraphy. With inventors Lionel Fixaris and Roxane Renaud. Suitable for all ages and with free admission.
- At 11 a.m., Chantal Berhault will give a talk on "Presqu?île de Maguelone, terre de choix".
- At 3pm, Alain Valdeyron will give another talk on "Les Guilhem, seigneurs de Montpellier".
At 6pm, there will be a closing speech and prize-giving ceremony for the drawing competition run by children from the leisure centers, who this year will be submitting entries on the theme of "Je dessine la couverture de mon livre imaginaire" ("I draw the cover of my imaginary book"):
