Montpellier’s medieval mikvah (a Jewish bath for the purification rituals) is testament to the importance of the Jewish community, which strongly took part in Montpellier’s growth. The mikvah is among the oldest and best preserved ones in Europe, and is located in the former Jewish neighbourhood of the city.
