In the shoes of magistrates and auditors
Throughout the day, from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., CRC Occitanie staff will be showing you two key moments in their work: the swearing-in ceremony and the deliberations, during which magistrates collegially discuss their still confidential reports. You'll be able to watch them take their oaths and deliberate in mock proceedings.
You'll be able to meet the CRC's magistrates, auditors, clerks and staff, and (re)discover the missions of this independent financial jurisdiction.
You'll also have access to the citizens' platform, where you can suggest audit topics for consideration by the magistrates. In 2025, the CRC Occitanie published two surveys based on numerous reports, on two themes suggested by citizens: public support for bullfighting and the use of consulting firms by local authorities.
You will be able to watch videos: an educational film on the missions of the Cour des Comptes and the CRC Occitanie, and modules presenting recent reports and their implications for the use of public money.
In addition to the escape game (registration required, see event), you'll be able to take part in two new events: the Retour des liasses game (all day), featuring perfect knots and accounting documents, and a conference (2 p.m.). At the invitation of the CRC Occitanie, Mrs. Evelyne Samy (Mémoire d?Oc association, Université du Tiers temps), will give the lecture "Montpellier, siège de la Cour des Comptes, Aydes et Finances, de sa création à la Révolution française".
Last but not least, you won't be able to leave without having pressed your CRC stamp yourself, but as heritage dictates, it's the older versions of the CRC that await you: CRC Midi-Pyrénées and Languedoc-Roussillon.
To complete your visit, you can follow the little booklet published for the occasion, which will introduce you to the building where the CRC Occitanie is based.
