Cool exploration
With four lines in service, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole has one of the largest tram networks in France.
84 stations cover Montpellier and part of the wider urban area. A simple, fun way to explore the metropolis*. Line 1 runs from north to south. Climb aboard one of the line’s famous blue trams decorated with swallows, departing from the Place de la Comédie, or the station, with its imposing glass nave and heading for the Odysseum centre, a shopping mall and leisure centre with a cinema, restaurants etc.
Along the way, you can explore Antigone, or check out the latest acquisitions in the central multimedia library designed by Paul Chemetov, or take a break and admire the bold architecture
of the Port-Marianne district, with its distinctive town hall by Jean Nouvel and François Fontès.
*La Tam, the network's operator, offers day passes and multimode packages (tram + bike) - Tickets on sale at the Tourist Office
