The château de Castries is one of the most important monuments of the region, with its garden and its aqueduct. The construction starts in 1565. The garden is laid out by Le Nôtre in 1666. Paul Riquet builds the aqueduct, to water the garden. Today the castle is property of the city of Castries. The castle is closed to the public. The parc opens in summertime.
