Montpellier Rugby Fauteuil is a handisport and adapted sports club that develops Rugby 7 fauteuil, a mixed discipline played with able-bodied and disabled people, based on the same rules as able-bodied rugby: oval ball, backward passes, scrummaging with wheelchairs, etc.
The club is also developing Quad Rugby, a discipline that mixes the rules of field hockey, basketball and American soccer, on a basketball floor. Like Rugby 7, this is a mixed discipline in which men and women play together. However, it is not mixed for the disabled and the handicapped, because to play this Paralympic discipline, you need to have at least 3 limbs.
In addition to its sporting activities, the MHR also runs a number of disability and sports awareness campaigns throughout the year. MHR training takes place at the Arthur Rimbaud gymnasium every Monday from 8pm to 10pm, and at the Salle de la Lauze in Saint Jean de Védas every Wednesday from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
