With Terra Immers', embark on a day of total immersion around the Etang de Thau, discovering local know-how in an authentic atmosphere.
We offer you the chance to discover the Etang de Thau, departing from Montpellier in a minibus, with a small group of no more than 8 people.
Our day begins in Bouzigues, a pretty, peaceful village and oyster capital, where we'll take a boat out on the pond to discover its secrets and get up close to the oyster and mussel farms to understand how they are produced. This is known as conchyliculture.
After this appetizer, we'll head off to a producer's restaurant to enjoy a freshly caught seafood and the famous tielle sétoise, for a timeless moment with a magnificent view.
Then, we will go to the other side of the pond, to Sète, a maritime city of character, where we will discover the last remaining traditional shipyard and its restoration activity of wooden sailing ships.
We'll round off the day with a guided tour of the fish auction in Sète's fishing port. You'll watch the trawlers return with the day's catch, which you'll see being transported to the auction room, where you'll discover how fishmongers and restaurant professionnals buy their wares by auction.
Depending on the timing and your mood, we'll take a stroll along the canals of the town.
