The AOP Terrasses du Larzac lies in the foothills of the Causse du Larzac. This limestone karst plateau is dominated by Mont Saint Bauzille at an altitude of over 800m. The AOP (Protected Designation of Origin - PDO) extends over 32 small municipal districts and brings together over a hundred winegrowers. The winemakers in the appellation express their creativity through their wines (exclusively red). The subtle art of choosing and blending grape varieties (such as Carignan, Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre), is then combined with the different geological and soil profiles of each vineyard parcel. The appellation brings together varied profiles of young and dynamic winegrowers, combining local stories with diverse professional reconversions.
In 2023, the appellation is rejuvenating the traditional concept of the wine route with its web application "Itinérances en Terrasses du Larzac".
Discover different thematic sound routes such as Rocks and landscapes or Vines and Biodiversity, and explore the rich heritage of the appellation and surrounding area.
