For one afternoon, lo temps d?una tantossada, Carnaval is inviting all Montpellier residents to join the procession for a beautiful moment of popular jubilation, open to all.

La prima arriba, la natura tòrna espelir.
Spring arrives, nature springs back to life and a new energy takes hold of the city: it's the great return of Carnival. For one day, the world turns upside down, roles are reversed and the people symbolically take back power for a collective, joyous and colorful celebration.
Under disguises and masks, young and old come together to sing and dance to the rhythm of the carnival strolls through the streets of the city.
The legendary totemic animals, los animaux totemics legendaris, carried by the children of the Calandretas, will accompany the procession to the sound of the Marcelle Coulazou brass band, led by the Si-reina del Carnaval.
Caramentran, Monsur Carnaval e sa benda, will this year be attempting to disrupt the festivities by polluting the oceans with garbage and plastic. But lo cortègi jòios won't let them!
With the help of the Totems de las escòlas and the Osco musical troupe, carnival-goers will join forces to restore l?armonia entre l?òme e los oceans, the harmony between human beings and the oceans.
The highlight of the day will be a grand mascarada protocollària, in which the Carnival people will symbolically claim las claus de la vila from the Consul, before lo jutjament e la cremason de Caramentran, the judgement and cremation of Caramentran, in the public square, in a festive and colorful farandole, a symbol of renewal.

- 2:30 pm Carnival stage
- 3pm Departure of the grand carnival procession from Place Max Rouquette ? Peyrou ? Rue Foch ? Place des Martyrs de la Résistance (Préfecture)
- 4pm Presentation of the keys to the city in front of the Prefecture and return to rue Foch ? Peyrou, towards Place Max Rouquette
- 5pm Judgment of Caramentran by Calandretas students and cremation
