Our partner TERRA IMMERS? is offering a Citybreak excursion to discover the Escale à Sète event on Monday 06/04! On the program for this lively, festive day, the quayside comes alive from morning to night, allowing you to discover the event from different angles, with parades, jousts, concerts, meetings with the crews and local produce stalls. 09:00: Departure from Montpellier (near Gare Saint-Roch) 09:45: Arrival in Sète and transport by boat along the canals to the event site 10:00 am: Stroll along the quays: visit the tall ships 1:00 pm: Lunch on the quays: paella, tielle sétoise, fish soup, oysters, mussels... (non-marine products available) 3:30 pm: Departure parade of ships and rigs begins 5:30 pm: Return to vehicle by canal boat 7:00 pm: Arrival in Montpellier Here are the ships that can be visited: - Belem: Three-masted barque, France's largest sailing ship (58 m). - Santa Maria Manuela: Four-masted schooner, Portuguese training ship (67 m). - Nao Victoria: Reproduction of Magellan's vessel that completed the first circumnavigation of the globe in the 16th century (25 m). - Phoenix: 34 m brig. - Pascual Flores: Three-masted pailebot schooner (47 m). - Vera Cruz: Reproduction of a 15th-century Portuguese caravel (24 m). - Florette: 40 m schooner. - La Grâce : Replica of an 18th-century brig (32 m) From the decks to the rigging, discover traditional naval architecture, sailing conditions and life aboard these historic vessels or faithful replicas. Each ship bears witness to a specific era and maritime know-how. A rich and festive program: seafaring music and songs, celebrations of fishing and trading ports, workshops to pass on knowledge in 12 themed villages, conferences, parades and colorful parades in honor of maritime heritage and seafarers will be some of the highlights of the event.
