LES FLEURS DU JAZZ

When the poetry of Charles Baudelaire meets jazz. A jazz cabaret; a pianist, a singer. A man in his sixties enters. He seems interested in the singer. We'll call him the poet. He has the Fleurs du Mal book in his pocket. What follows is a dialogue between the poet and the singer, punctuated by great jazz standards and some of the most beautiful poems from the "Flowers of Evil", which illustrate the dialogues of these two drifting beings who are looking for a soul mate, but who are undoubtedly incapable of loving again. This show is an opportunity to reflect on love, illness, absence and death, and to re-hear or discover the most beautiful poems by the man who brought beauty to ugliness and suffering.
