Pézenas, located 30 minutes west of Montpellier, has a rich heritage. A royal town during the reign of Saint Louis, it acquired a political role in the fifteenth century by becoming the seat of the General States of Languedoc. The medieval town then expanded and prestigious architectural projects were undertaken.
Enjoy the charm of its historic centre, the mansions of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, the houses of the 'bourgeoise', the cobbled streets and the designer boutiques.
Did you know? Pézenas is also the birthplace of the singer Boby Lapointe.
