Next edition in 2023 in the sumptuous site of Maguelone Cathedral.
A festival dedicated to ancient music in a magical setting!
Organized by the association “Les Muses en Dialogue”, this musical event offers each year, generally at the beginning of June, high quality concerts performed by internationally renowned artists.
On the program for this 2021 edition which will take place from June 10 to 14 in compliance with health standards:
►On Thursday, June 10, the Ensemble Clément Janequin, directed by Dominique Visse, offers a reborn program of high quality, "A thousand regretz de vous habandonner", around the most flamboyant polyphonic work of France by François I, marked through the composer's Italian escapades to the Sforza court in Ferrara. This cultural duality so characteristic of the time allowed him to combine deep fervor and pleasant levity, and earned him the pretty nickname of "Mozart of the 16th century".
►On Saturday June 12, Joshua Cheatham (viola da gamba), Gabriel Rignol (theorbo) and Yoann Moulin (harpsichord) pay homage to the prodigious gambist Antoine Forqueray, whose virtuosity had dazzled Louis XIV when he was still a child, and whose he had been the Regent's music teacher and one of the court's official musicians.
►On Monday June 14, Jordi Savall (rebab, viola top and rebec) and Pedro Estevan (percussions) will offer us “a refuge of memory, a dialogue of souls” between the music of the East and the West, under- strained by the quest for the absolute of the great monotheisms of the Mediterranean, whose loving intertwining of traditions underlines essential similarities in their surge of transcendence and fraternity.
Online booking will be available in the next few days.
