Domaine de Méric

Méric Park is a 10 hectares park in the middle of Montpellier, on the Méric estate, where lived the painter Bazille and his family. Bazille found there inspiration for his work. Two terraces overlook the Lez River and offer a nice view of Castelnau-le-Lez.

The green heart of Montpellier, Domaine de Méric was developed on the banks of the Lez in the 19th century by the family of painter Frédéric Bazille (who often painted the place). It possesses an orangery and an English garden.

At the entrance, there is an orchard and a magnificent meadow that flowers in spring.

Areas for children, dogs and ball games are provided. It is possible to reach the banks of the Lez below the Domaine. A footpath enables you to walk along the river through the woods.
