LE PARC DU TERRAL

The Terral, one of the oldest estates in and around Montpellier, appears in history records from the 9th century onwards. It was the summer residence of the bishops of Maguelone.

Enjoy a memorable and colourful walk in the park as you follow the arboretum trail. Trees have been selected for their specific features, beauty or originality.

Since 1989, in collaboration with various associations working to raise environmental awareness, the municipality has rejuvenated this historical park. It has created a modern irrigation network, restored the bamboo groves, created a “sensory garden” and a “stone and water garden” near the entrance to the recently renovated outbuilding, introduced many new plant species, and more besides.

A very popular place to walk, this park has become the natural venue for events related to exploring Mediterranean gardens and life in the town.
