Description

O Fortuna?! Two words, a few notes, and an entire audience holds its breath. Composed in 1937 by Carl Orff based on medieval Latin and Middle High German poems, Carmina Burana is one of the most frequently performed choral works in the world. A celebration of fortune, love, and the pleasures of life, it unleashes an orchestral and choral energy of extraordinary magnitude. For this production, director Anne Lopez brings a powerful stage vision to the stage, enhanced by Mathieu Cabanes’ lighting design. At the helm, conductor Roderick Cox leads the Montpellier Occitanie National Opera Orchestra and Chorus, joined by the young voices of Opera Junior and the Goyang Festival Choir, hailing from South Korea. Two hundred artists on stage, all performing the same score. An event worthy of the work itself: all-encompassing, collective, unforgettable. Beuern Song Poems: Secular Songs, for solo singers and choirs, with instrumental accompaniment and magical imagery. Scenic cantata (1935–1936) based on texts in Old French, Latin, and Middle High German. Duration: 1 hour 10 minutes without intermission Prices: 66? | 56? | 50? | 40? | 25?
