A truly festive and cultural program for everyone—Montpellier residents, tourists, and visitors—organized by the Association Internationale Saint-Roch de Montpellier in partnership with the City of Montpellier %C0 MONTPELLIER Saturday, August 15 – Sunday, August 16, 2026 Montpellier International Saint-Roch Festival We will welcome distinguished guests, particularly from Italy, including representatives from the cities of Sarmato, Voghera, Piacenza, and Turin, among them Marco Raiteri GIANDUJA of “Famija Turinèisa.” Approved by the Ministry of Culture, Gianduja and Giacometta participate in events in Turin and Piedmont, in Italy and around the world. On Saturday evening, the 15th, and Sunday morning, the 16th Parades, processions, street performances, and shows featuring the famous flag-wavers from Borgo San Lorenzo d’Alba, much loved by the people of Montpellier Saturday, August 15 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.: A large procession will set off from the Maison des Relations Internationales (MRI) toward downtown, featuring flag-wavers parading along the Esplanade Charles De Gaulle, Place de la Comédie, Grand Rue Jean Moulin, Place Saint-Roch, Rue Saint-Guilhem, Place de la Préfecture, then down to Place de la Comédie via Rue de la Loge, followed by a performance and a return via the Esplanade to the MRI. Two performances will be held: at Place de la Comédie at 8:45 p.m. and at Place Saint-Roch at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, August 16 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.: procession, parade, and entertainment Opening ceremony featuring the flags of the countries affiliated with the International Saint-Roch Association of Montpellier and the International Association, with flag bearers from Borgo Lorenzo d’Alba and the Barony of Caravètes, Joan Pau lo Tamborinaire e Pifraire de Montpellier, accompanied by Thierry Didier Klein on the drum, will perform “Chivalet” (“on horseback”) on the fife, playing traditional Occitan tunes. 9:30 a.m.: Departure of the Grand Procession, marching from the Maison des Relations Internationales (MRI) to the Esplanade, passing through Place de la Comédie, Grand’Rue Jean Moulin, the Saint-Roch Sanctuary, Rue Saint Guilhem, Place de la Préfecture, Rue Foch, down the Peyrou side, Rue de l’École de Médecine, Cathedral, back up to Place de la Préfecture, performance, down to Place de la Comédie via Rue de la Loge, performance, then back via the Esplanade to the MRI. Given global warming and the problems encountered in 2025 that forced us to scale back our afternoon parade, there will be no parade on the afternoon of August 16.
