Since 2012, World Opera Day has celebrated this comprehensive art form every year—one capable of moving, surprising, and captivating audiences of all kinds. To prove it to you, the Opera Orchestra is marking the occasion with two evenings of opera at the Opéra Comédie. Faust, Carmen, La Bohème, Turandot, The Magic Flute, Die Fledermaus… arias you’ve already heard or even hummed yourself.
Soprano Audrey Maignan, a young talent trained at the Paris Conservatory and winner of several international competitions, brings them to life with the Montpellier National Orchestra under the baton of Victor Jacob, named “Revelation Conductor” at the 2023 Victoires de la Musique, a familiar face on our stage and particularly at ease with the operatic repertoire. A celebration of the voice to honor the most universal aspects of opera.
