An unforgettable artistic and cultural journey around the world exploring female fertility. Accompanied by a temporary exhibition, ‘In Praise of the Pillow’, on traditional pillows, and an audio installation entitled ‘Return to the Egg’ Art lovers, healthcare professionals, expectant mothers and their families, students and visitors alike will be captivated by the rich iconography, the unusual objects, the presentation in French and English, and the anecdotes recounted by the collector. The exhibition is organised by geographical region, revealing the infinite variety of styles and interpretations on a universal theme, addressing the existential anxieties of women facing uncertainties regarding their fertility. Dr Vincent Fauveau travelled the world for forty years of a professional life dedicated to women’s health, collecting a wide variety of often surprising objects.
