Description
As part of the Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier
Ala.ni has an astonishing destiny: born in London to parents originally from Grenada, she first dreamed of being a ballet dancer, then became a backing singer for Mary J. Blige or Blur, then improvised as a fashion designer, before finally following in the footsteps of her great-uncle Leslie Hutchinson, alias Hutch, international music-hall star of the 30s.
After a two-year stay in Jamaica, she returned to Europe to record her third album, experimenting for the first time with a formula that was as stripped-down as it was daring: vocals, guitar and cello. The perfect setting for a voice freer than ever, nourished by the heritage of the Caribbean while continuing to cultivate her irresistible singularity.
No doubt about it: in Sunshine Music, Ala.ni shines!
