Les %C2nes de Palinkov
This Montpellier-based collective presents a festive, vibrant concert, blending Bulgarian, Romanian, and Gypsy music with original compositions. Inspired by the sounds of the Balkans, the musicians take the audience on a musical journey without borders. Driven by a vibrant rhythm section, the group brings together six improvisational musicians, all eager to immerse themselves in the vast world of “Eastern music,” led by the powerful voice of Vladimir Gourko. Their unconventional orchestration creates a rich and intriguing soundscape, where rhythms and melodies of great intensity intertwine. In the spirit of Tony Gatlif’s films, Matia Levréro draws inspiration from the wild freedom experienced in Romani lands, giving rise to music that is at once sensitive and poignant, yet also boisterous and ready to break into a wild dance. Total exhilaration.
