Tour in French Now a very popular place for walks, the Méric estate was once the country home of Frédéric Bazille’s family. The story of a place, the story of a man—it was in this haven of peace and inspiration that the painter exercised his talent in the late 19th century. This place was one of the milestones in the revolution toward a more vibrant style of plein air painting—a movement that would come to be known as “Impressionism” four years after Bazille’s death. Enjoy an exclusive view of Castelnau-le-Lez from the terrace of Le Mas. Meet 10 minutes before departure in front of the main entrance to the garden, 530 Rue de Ferran, Montpellier.
