Description
As part of the Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier
Schumann's symphonies are often performed by large symphony orchestras. Mozart, on the other hand, is usually performed by smaller ensembles.
The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie (German Chamber Philharmonic) has come to the conclusion that Schumann, although he died exactly one hundred years after Mozart?s birth, can regain his youthful color thanks to the lightness and relief of a chamber ensemble.
Based in Bremen, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie will be conducted here by Omer Meir Wellber, the new director of the Berlin Staatsoper. Hilary Hahn, a familiar face at Radio France concerts, will play Mozart?s Fifth Violin Concerto, sometimes nicknamed "Turkish", which ends with a spirited movement from a fanciful Orient.
