Description
Château de la Piscine is opening its park to the public for the first time, with registration, on a unique 7-point trail.
For this year?s event, dedicated to the theme of "The View", the Château is offering an original itinerary based around 7 points of view, allowing visitors to take a fresh look at the park, its history and its composition.
Outdoor tour of the park :
You will be free to explore the park at 7 stations: the entrance and façade of the château, the southern forecourt, the pond and statues, the meadow and remarkable trees, the oriental garden around the water lilies, the greenhouses and the noria.
A tour map will be handed out at the entrance.
A tour designed with students from Lycée Jules Guesde
The outdoor itinerary was designed on the basis of research carried out by hypokhâgne students from Lycée Jules Guesde? UM3, on the history of the château, its grounds and surroundings.
Accompanied by their teachers and several specialists in historic gardens, the students studied the estate?s archives, old plans, the logic of the garden?s composition and the role of water in its development.
They will be present in the park to accompany you and share some of the results of their research.
A contemporary work in the park :
On this occasion, you can also discover in the park a work by Ève Laroche-Joubert, entitled Vallon d?une Épaule.
This sculpture is part of the artist?s work on organic forms, the body and landscape. Its presence at Château de la Piscine foreshadows a solo exhibition of her work during the European Heritage Days in September.
