Description
As part of the Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier
The promise of Les Siècles orchestra is well known: to play the works it tackles using historic instruments, and thus rediscover their verve and original colors.
This concert will allow us to rediscover, as if hearing them for the first time, two great works created at the end of the 19th century: Dvo?ák?s Cello Concerto, premiered in 1896, and Beethoven?s Pastoral Symphony, first performed in 1808.
Christian-Pierre La Marca also plays an unusual, strangely anonymous instrument, made between 1790 and 1830.
Anonymous, but with a unique sonority, as it belongs to no particular school.
An opportunity to remember that the best-known repertoire can only be begun again and again.
